THIS IS A GREAT DAY!

Mom's package arrived after a 3 week journey to God knows WHERE?!!!  I feel like a child on Christmas morning, a kid at camp, a blessed girl with the BEST Mom ever!

My favorite... CREATURES :-))

Yes, they are all alive!  Haha!  We live with these friends inside and out!  I saw a red scaled snake on the side of the road the other day.  We also found a tiny puppy on the way home from school yesterday, almost too tiny to hold his own head up.  He was about the size of this frog!  Love these guys during the day.  They are also the most frightening part of having to use the outhouse at night!  These are just the ones I have been able to capture with the lens...

My home :-)

Welcome to our home in Cofradia, Cortes!  I am pleased to introduce you to my volunteer family (Adam, Colleen, Karena, and Sean) and ...

our lovely neighbors, with whom we have bonded quite nicely :-)  Katie, they ask about you every day... "When are we going to meet your sister?  Do you think she'll bring us a gift?  Katie this, Katie that..."  I keep trying to put them off, Katie, but they are growing impatient by the day.

Here's a closer look at our:
front porch-

living area-

kitchen-

back porch-

side space-

outside laundry "room" with una pila (green thing that holds a bunch of water) for bucket showers when our water goes out.  I also use the pila to wash my hands during the middle night after my visit to the outhouse bathroom behind the black door.

There are two bedrooms in the house.  Sean and Adam share one.  Colleen and Karena share the other.  My room is basically a shed in the back of the property.  They thought changing the name from "shack" to "castle" might make it more inviting.  I was crowned "queen" and am just happy to have my own space!  It is nice to know my friends are nearby :-)

Thanks for visiting our home!

You are welcome back to experience the mooooooing cows, mighty roosters, midnight rain on the tin roof, and the sun rising above the mountain tops... anytime you wish :-)

A hammock is waiting just for you!

WEEKEND FEATURE- Triunfo de la Cruz on the Northern Coast

All pictures on this post were taken by Sarah Digby.  It is the last time I left my camera behind!

Awwwwwwww, that's my little buddy, Jackson :-)  His mom is my age- 32!  I got to share stories about Leyton :-)))  It made it feel close to home :-)

Jackson is 2 years old and fearless!  He thinks the ocean is his best friend.  He looks like a little football player, tackling the waves.  He'll stay under for a while and pop back up wiping his face.  Smiling as bright as the sun shines, he dives back into the sea over and over again!

We had a great time watching these fisherman from the cliff above!

This fish was a turquoise I have never seen with my own eyes- FABULOUS!
