Currency

It was one strange moment this past weekend.  Standing in Costa Rica, I realized I had 3 forms of currency on me- all of which I needed.  Although not much of any, no wonder my brain has been confused!  Overload!

Quick Trip to Costa Rica :-)

WOW!  The difference between 2nd World Costa Rica and 3rd World Honduras!  My nice weekend break included: cool air, sweatshirts, jeans, no mosquitos, sleep under blankets, warm showers, faucet water, delicious Christian-cooked meals, yes-shopping (a few clothes- WHAT???? and A LOT of groceries!), Monopoly (Katie- we missed you!), and lots of hugs from missed friends.  Needed that!

Valeria Kalana!

That's my buddy :-)

Dance lessons from one of the greatest teachers I know!

City walks!

Circus clowns!

Everyone loves the newest family addition- great dane puppy, KAI (Hawaiian- Ocean)!

Pablito, Jesus, Paola, Favi- Oh, how you have grown!

Lil man, learning how to play the game!  Check out my POKER FACE!

Oh, the memories and fun seeing a Monopoly Board in Spanish!

Town Parade- The night before El Dia de Los Ninos!

All of the area schools Marched for 2 hours through Cofradia last night in honor of our children!  It was a BEAUTIFUL sight :-))

Arm in arm, we are proud to be dressed in our best :-)

I was fascinated with new sounds!

San Jeronimo represented with YELLOW torches!!!  Yes, real flames- this is HONDURAS!

The whole town glowed with a rainbow of colors!

These drum lines were SPECTACULAR!!!

It is a little past my bedtime and my tiny feet are tired.  Nighty night :-)

Wildlife Sightings :-(

...so MOST creepy crawlies excite me, for some strange reason!  I am really ok with the fact that he lives above me!

I LOVE that he lives out front!

It fascinates me that my roommates found a tarantula beside my room.  It didn't freak me out toooooo, tooooo bad when I felt a lump in my sock and found a dead baby gecko inside.  Although, the incident did cause me to run out onto our patio in my underwear, SCREAMMMMMING for Colleen to come look!  I can handle all of that, relatively.  I have grown accustomed to the roosters screaming through the night, the stray dogs wandering the streets...

BUUUUUUUT THIS!!!!!!!!!  REALLLY?!!!!!!!!?????????  ARE YOU SERIOUS??????????  Can I say that I was FAR LESS THAN PLEASED to find this snake skin on my book bag beside my BED when I came home yesterday!  IT WAS NOT THERE WHEN I LEFT FOR WORK IN THE MORNING.  Ummmmmmmmmm, Mom asked if I had someone come take care of that.  You realize this is a laughable matter in Honduras?!!!!!!!!!!!!  H E L P!  Georgia Rudolph, will you please at least try and find out if this kind of snake is POISONOUS?!  HOLY TOLEDO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  No me gusta :-(

And NO, it does not comfort me to say, "He is keeping away the mice!"  And YES, they scurry across our back porch, too!  Another another Y E S- I thought I was paranoid, but now confirmed SENSIBLE each time I shake my sheets before bed!
